Bandana Care & Washing Information
Bandana Care
Most traditional cotton bandanas are made with lightweight cotton fabric. Because the material is thin and more delicate than many everyday garments, cotton bandanas should be handled and washed with care.
Recommended Care
For best results:
- Hand wash or spot wash only
- Use cold water
- Use mild detergent
- Do not bleach
- Do not wash with towels, jeans, hoodies, or other heavy/rough fabrics
- Air dry only
- If ironing is needed, use low to medium heat and avoid pulling or stretching the edges
Washing Machine & Dryer Use
Please refrain from washing cotton bandanas in a washing machine, even on a gentle cycle. Cotton bandanas can fray when machine washed, especially when washed with heavier items or placed in a dryer.
Tumble drying can also cause additional wear, shrinkage, wrinkling, and edge fraying.
Product Life
Cotton bandanas generally do not have the same life cycle as some common garments like T-shirts. The fabric is thinner and more delicate, and the life span will depend on how the bandana is used, washed, dried, and handled.
Some fading, shrinking, wrinkling, or loose threads may occur over time with cotton textile products.
For events, giveaways, costumes, pets, crafts, or repeated use, we recommend ordering extra units when possible.
